Extending DoD Software

The DoD Uncertainty Analysis Software was originally produced as a Matlab code and focused on application for ground-based survey technologies such as rtkGPS and total stations. We have been working to extend this methodology to traditional airborne-LiDaR, narrow-beam green-LiDaR and ground-based LiDaR. In addition, the software would be more useful and accessible to researchers and practitioners doing monitoring and change detection work from repeat topographic surveys if it were available as an ArcGIS plug-in or web-applicaiton. We are currently working on a refactoring and extending this code as a open-source C++ library and developing software to utilize it via an ArcGIS plug-in and web application. We are working with folks at Open Topography, to host the web application.

These developments should be released early Summer 2010. Stay tuned.
